In this top 10, the Mister Bilingue team has whipped up a list of all the best spots in Paris for the lovers of all things German among you. The French capital is practically bursting with new, trendy places to check out and, believe us, the France-Germany love affair is still very much alive!

So, ready to rediscover the pleasures of Germany at just a stone's throw from your apartment? Auf geht's!

Café Titon

Café Titon is the place to be when it comes to the best German spots in Paris. Don't be fooled by its suspiciously non-German name–that's only the name of the street, located in Paris' 11th arrondissement–because inside you can find all the most classic tastes of Germany!

Whether it's the classic schnitzel, the delicious maultaschen or the must-have Nurnburger, you won't be disappointed by any of the homemade delights (including fries, of course) you can find here. When it comes to beer, take your pick from Pilsener, Weizen, Helles and Schwartzbier. This place has everything you could possibly need to get your taste buds going, including the authentic aroma of malt and hops!

Now you can even order your meal directly to your apartment! What could be better than that, the best of German gastronomy delivered straight to your door?

Le Stube

Are you craving an imbiss, one of those tasty little bites to gobble on the spot or on the go? Look no further and head to Le Stube in Paris' 1st arrondissement! This gem is lovingly run by Sylvie and Gerhard Werber, a French-German couple whose families have a rich heritage in the world of baking and pastry.

At Le Stube, you can tuck into the famous bratwurst and Bockwurst sausages, served with a whole variety of sauces. Try currywurst, würstchen, sauerkraut or even a frankfurter.

And, as is the case at any good, self-respecting deli, you can order their tasty dishes straight to your home as well – perfect for an evening with friends!

Wunderbär

Fancy grabbing a drink after work, German style? Head to Wunderbär for a selection of typically German beers and sodas!

Perfectly located on the edge of the Canal Saint-Martin, just a stone's throw from the République metro stop, this friendly Berlin restaurant will welcome you with open arms and a smile as big as the Eiffel Tower itself.

Open day and night, come here to soak up a classic Parisian setting while you sip on your Fritz Mischmasch Kola, fresh from Hamburg! It could be worse, right?

Le Kaffeehaus

How about a little something sweet to take you back to your childhood? That was the idea that inspired Ralf Edeler when he started Kaffeehaus.

Whether it's for breakfast, a coffee or a real gourmet meal, there's something for everyone at this charming shop next to the Ternes metro stop in the 17th arrondissement. For all lovers of German food, here you can find traditional delights such as Black Forest gateau, strudel and Sacher cake, that are all sure to blow your mind.

Are you salivating yet? In that case, we have only one thing to say to you: Guten Besuch und guten appetit!

Spaghettina

What do you get if you mix ice cream with spaghetti? Spaghettieis, obviously! (You really must be German if you got that.)

This dessert, made with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberry puree and grated white chocolate is a true classic of German ice cream parlours! Behind the scenes at Spaghettina you can find Tina Nalbantoglu, a German expat who wanted nothing more than to bring her favourite German dessert to the French capital.

Already famous in New York, Spaghettina is starting to make a name for itself in Paris. Whether it's to support German culture or simply to get your fill of this tasty German treat, we can't recommend this place enough!

Kiez

Kiez is probably the most famous biergarten (literally "beer garden") in Paris!

You can find this typical German bistro at the foot of Montmartre and right next to the Ourq canal. Trust us on this one: Kiez is a must for any self-respecting Germanophile.

If you still need convincing, this bar is Paris' answer to Munich's Okotberfest and Cologne's Karnaval and there's no need to leave the city!

Whether you're looking for a relaxed spot to finish some work, to grab a drink after work or to party into the early hours, the Kiez is the perfect place to enjoy the best of German culture. And, just to seal the deal, they even have a foosball table!

Der Tante Emma Laden

Haven't heard of "Tante Emma Laden"? Ask your mother!

These small stalls were everywhere in Germany until their gradual disappearance following the arrival of supermarkets in the early 1970s. But no fear, Der Tante Emma Laden is the perfect opportunity for you to discover a typical German grocery store recreated in the heart of the Porte Saint-Martin market in Paris' 10th arrondissement. Here you'll find a warm and inviting space and, most importantly, shelves heaving with all the German delicacies you can imagine! Selected from the very best producers, all the products here will give you the warmest insight into German culture and gastronomy.

And if you like to bring tradition and modernity together, you can always order your heart's desire directly on the shop's website!

The Librairie Allemande

Food is all very well and good, but a quality book can feed the soul too!

At the Librairie Allemande (a simple but effective name), you'll find more than just books. Above all, this is a place of sharing and the home of that special French-German friendship. Pay a visit to this spot in Paris' 5th arrondissement and take some time to peruse their book boxes outside, to stop for a reading or to check out their calendar of upcoming events.

It should go without saying that another thing you can find in this bookshop is… books, by the hundreds, by the thousands, and plenty written in German for your pleasure.

If you happen to read German, you might like to check out their Twitter page to stay in the loop for their upcoming news and updates too.

The Maison Heinrich Heine

In need of a culture top-up? Welcome to the Maison Heinrich Heine, more commonly known as the Fondation de l'Allemagne, tucked away in the 14th arrondissement of Paris!

Founded to welcome students and researchers from all over the world, the Maison Heinrich Heine exists to promote French-German collaboration across the fields of science, culture, art and politics.

In addition to its library of more than 20,000 predominantly German-language works, the Maison Heinrich Heine also puts on more than 180 cultural and social events each year, including conferences, debates, exhibitions, concerts, film screenings and literary events. Make sure to take a look at their list of upcoming events!

The Goethe Institute

There are Goethe institutes all over the world dedicated to promoting the German language. The Goethe Institute in Paris is no exception to the rule, providing a wealth of information on German-speaking culture and the various events going on in the French capital.

At the institute itself you can attend exhibitions, seminars on cinema and literary events. The institute updates its calendar with all its programmes and goings-on every month, so make sure to take a look!
